
Each of the college scholarships minority will be for £16,500 and can be used to offset the cost of tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and provide a maintenance allowance for living expenses. In addition, Standard Chartered Scholars will benefit from a 20% reduction in their tuition fees.
Please note that the Standard Chartered college scholarships minority do not cover the Equal Learning Qualification (“ELQ”) fee.
Students offered a scholarship must take it up in 2011/12. It cannot be carried forward to a later year.

Candidate Criteria
Possess a First Class Honours degree, from a UK institution or overseas equivalent
Open only to applicants paying fees at the UK/EU rate
An interest in completing a dissertation on a topic that is of demonstrable relevance to the broad business of Standard Chartered is desirable
The college scholarships minority cannot be held along with any other major scholarship or studentship.
Candidate Assessment
college scholarships minority Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by an Advisory Panel consisting of three academic members nominated by the School.
The assessment of your application will be based on the information in your application. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statements and other relevant information.

college scholarships minority award holders will be encouraged by SOAS to meet representatives of Standard Chartered, on confirmation of their award, to explore additional opportunities, including summer internships and dissertation support, if their career and research interests overlap with those of Standard Chartered.
Scholarship Application Deadline

Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
Applicants must also have applied for a place to study no later than the scholarship application deadline in order to be considered for this scholarship. The application for a place must be complete.
Notification
All college scholarships minority candidates will be notified by e-mail regarding the outcome of their application by the end of June. Successful candidates will also be notified by letter. If you have not heard from us by mid-July, please contact the Scholarships Officer.
